about us
Our Story
Founded in Las Vegas on the belief that confidence changes everything — we're building brighter futures one child at a time.
Our Mission
To empower underprivileged children in the Las Vegas community by providing free professional haircuts and brand-new shoes, nurturing confidence and a sense of belonging that extends far beyond the first day of school.
Cuts & Kicks Foundation was founded on a simple belief: every child — regardless of their family's financial situation — deserves the dignity of a fresh look and new shoes on the first day of school.
Our Foundation's Story
In 2019, Trevor Atkinson watched a young boy in his North Las Vegas neighborhood walk to school in worn-out shoes, head down. That same afternoon, he paid for the boy's haircut at a local barbershop. The transformation was instant — the child stood taller, smiled wider, and walked with a confidence no one had seen before.
That moment crystallized what Trevor already knew: for children growing up in under-resourced communities, looking good isn't vanity — it's a gateway to belonging, to learning, and to believing in themselves. He called his brother Joshua, and together they organized their first back-to-school event in 2020.
What began as a single-day event serving 48 children has grown into a registered nonprofit that has helped over 500 kids across the Las Vegas valley. But our mission hasn't changed: every child should walk into school feeling like they belong there.
